Eenie, Meeney, Mighty, Moe and Ringo

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV) Your first reaction may be.. my what a strange title for a devotional, and that it is. But I do have to share with you the birth of our little mother's kittens last night in our bathroom that we named the above... Eenie,Meeney,Miney, Moe, and Ringo, because she has a white ring around her neck. My husband Pat and I were going to allow her to birth her kittens in our attached garage to our home, but mama kitty had other ideas. We named the mama... Sugar Baby and she adopted us this last Memorial Day weekend. She came to our Sun Room windows and looked so pleadingly at me that it broke my heart. She had on a flea collar so she obviously had belonged to someone before she came to us. We tried to find her owner to no avail. We already have a Lab/Sharpei dog and 4 grown cats so we were hesitant about taking her in. But she won our hearts and now has given us the gift of 5 precious little babies, and what a wonderful Mama she is to them. What joy it was to us as we stayed up with her all night last night as she gave birth. Seeing the new little lives brought joy and hope to our hearts in a world that is so depressing and in such turmoil. No watching the NEWS last night for us. Only the joy and hope of new little lives. What NEW LIFE the Saviour gives us as we are "born again" into His kingdom and into His arms of love. How God loves us even with all our insecurities, illnesses and flaws. Thank you Father for the new life you give us through your precious Son Jesus Christ.
