Moocher
For ye were as sheep going astray;but are now
returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your
souls." (1Peter 2:25 NIV)
He is a little stray kitty that has captured our
hearts and has made our 4 inside kittys want to
get outside and be friends with him.
We named him Moocher. He comes to our house,
and we put food out for him and other strays, but Moocher
gets up in the window and looks in. My wife Nancy can go
out and he will rub against her leg, but he will only let
her hold him for a few seconds and he starts squirming
and wiggling all over again to get loose only to get on
the ground and start rubbing against her legs again.
With God, many of us are like that. We go looking to
Him for things and get excited but when He wants to
hold us and tell us all is okay we fight and squirm and
want back down again. WHY? For some it is we feel
we are not worthy, because of our previous sins.
Many of us have wandered out of the way. We have
journeyed to a place unknown spiritually. We need
to be fed and watered and taken in by the Lord. Get
into your Bible. Get into a spiritual church or fellowship.
Get fed and renewed just like our stray kitty, Moocher
has done. Let the Lord recapture your heart.
Do not squirm and wiggle like our little Moocher. Do not
just come to God when we need something. However go
to Him and dwell in His love and His arms. Let Him take you
and comfort and heal you. Praise Him even when things
are not going great, even when you do not feel like it. Then
dwell in His presence. Do not be in a hurry to run, but dwell.
Father God take us into your arms and teach us to dwell in
your presence and love. in Jesus name AMEN...
